Richard is an experienced chairman and non-executive director with a reputation for solving complex problems and getting things done. He is skilled in mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring having previously held the position of International Mergers & Acquisitions Director for AT&T.
His skill base is a unique blend of finance and marketing, combining strategy, business development, strategic and marketing planning, mergers, acquisitions and general management. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants and has a first degree in mathematics and computer science from Bristol University. In January 2001, AT&T awarded him a special commendation for his mentoring skills. Other corporate experience includes his time as non-executive chairman of Focus Solutions Group plc, an e-commerce enabling software company that floated on AIM and grew rapidly.
Richard enjoys travel with his wife, Caroline, and plays bridge for Worcestershire. He also likes walking, skiing and cycling. Father of two daughters and a son, and grandfather to Seb, Hugo, Rohan, Harris and Rose; he attempts to relax in the garden but is more likely to be thinking about the next problem he is trying to solve.
